the science behind nmn

replenish your nad with nmn

Information about anti-aging products comes primarily from advertising touting a more youthful appearance. However, the scientific definition of anti-aging refers to the process of slowing, stopping, or even reversing the process of aging in all your body’s cells.

Across the globe, scientists are working on treatments and therapies that are designed to extend healthy human lifespans well beyond what we know today. In the last decades, doctors and biologists worldwide have learned the importance of NMN in prolonging an active lifestyle and slowing the signs of aging.

The video and article links on this page discussing the scientific research behind NMN are for learning and educational purposes. We hope that they will help you to make a more informed decision about adding NMN supplements to your daily regimen.

Softer and smoother skin, feeling more energetic, better sleep, and less inflammation, are typically the first changes you may notice. Further benefits arise in the long run, although it may take some time to see complete results.

Although the Fountain of Youth remains a myth, the science behind anti-aging medication continues to advance. Perhaps one day, we will be able to take a miracle pill and experience life over again. Until then, NMN supplements are a great place to begin in the race to maintain youthful vitality.

Cracking & reversing the aging clock – Science Unlimited 2019*

Renowned longevity researcher David Sinclair believes aging is not inevitable but a treatable condition. In his talk at Science Unlimited 2019, he explained why we age – and how we can reverse aging to extend human healthspan and lifespan.

David Sinclair is Professor in the Department of Genetics, Blavatnik Institute and co-Director of the Paul F. Glenn Center for the Biological Mechanisms of Aging at Harvard Medical School. Anti-Aging Compound in Human Clinical Trial

Will Boosting NMN Slow Aging?*

There are all kinds of anti-aging products and supplements for sale. One hot trend is NMN supplements that are advertised by many companies at a range of affordable prices. Shin-ichiro Imai, MD, PhD, at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, is a leader on NMN research. His mouse-based research indicates NMN can slow signs of aging, boost energy and rejuvenate metabolism. But when it comes to supplements on the market, Imai advised caution, “As far as I can tell, there are only two sources on NMN which have been extensively tested in both rodents and humans.” Imai is conducting a human clinical study at the School of Medicine. “We need to prove the efficacy scientifically in human clinical trial,” he said. NAD+ in Aging

Role of Nicotinamide Riboside & Nicotinamide Mononucleotide*

In this episode, Rhonda explains what NAD+, why it is so important for aging and why it declines with age. She discusses some of the popular NAD+ boosters like nicotinamide riboside and nicotinamide mononucleotide, what animal and human data says and some concluding thoughts.

NAD+ is crucial for our survival. Small amounts of it can be obtained in the diet, but the body recycles it to get most of what it needs. Unfortunately, day to day living plus normal aging can cause NAD+ levels to drop. This causes metabolic and mitochondrial dysfunction, as well as many of the other problems and conditions associated with aging like elevated DNA damage. NAD+ levels can go up when we exercise or fast, but NAD+ precursors like nicotinamide riboside and nicotinamide mononucleotide can also increase NAD+ levels in a dose-dependent manner. However, most of the data on NAD+ boosters comes from animal studies. Whether these boosters are effective – and safe – long-term in humans is still a big question.
